Internet Explorer

LastPass is a free password management program. It has been available as a extension to many browsers like Firefox and Internet Explorer for a while now. However it was not supported on Google Chrome until today.

LastPass manages all your passwords and you can simply fill in login forms with just one simple click. LastPass also comes with a password generator which will produce some strong password which are harder to brute-hack.

LastPass for Google Chrome is available right now on the latest Dev build. To install LastPass point your Chrome browser to https://lastpass.com/lpchrome.crx. Once you have installed LastPass you can disable Chrome’s inbuilt password manager from options.

LastPass for Chrome is still on the first version, there may still be bugs. But its working great on my Chrome installed on Windows XP SP3, if you do try it out let me know how your experience was.

The image above says it all, with a proper browser you can save precious battery life on your laptop. The best performer Internet Explorer 8 outlasted 34minute longer than the worst performer Safari 4.

Big surprise was that IE8 came in better than Firefox with adblock installed by 7 minute. However if your doing some intensive browsing on your laptop Firefox would still come out on top as you might find due to its superior page loading speed over IE8 which might save you a good 10-15 minute.
