Browser

The beta version of Mozilla’s popular browser “Firefox” is now released and available for download from the Mozilla FTP server. Now like all any beta version software expect some bugs and unexpected crashes.

So what is new in this beta release you may ask. Well, to sum it up in a paragraph better JavaScript retendering performance, improvement to Gecko 1.9.2, tab preview (Yay!) and some function to do with accelerometer, which I will write up in another post.

Like I have previously said, expect bugs and unexpected crashes. So don’t use it as your main browser!

I don’t know about you, but I feel a bit offended by watching this video of Google trying to teach everyone what a browsers is. Ok Ok jokes, I’ll be reasonable I guess Google has a point. Most of my friend don’t seems to have a clue, they think its just something where you search stuff with and some don’t even know the names they just click these familiar icons on the desktop.

Have a look at the video, it can be quiet educational depending on how geek you are, or not.

LastPass is a free password management program. It has been available as a extension to many browsers like Firefox and Internet Explorer for a while now. However it was not supported on Google Chrome until today.

LastPass manages all your passwords and you can simply fill in login forms with just one simple click. LastPass also comes with a password generator which will produce some strong password which are harder to brute-hack.

LastPass for Google Chrome is available right now on the latest Dev build. To install LastPass point your Chrome browser to https://lastpass.com/lpchrome.crx. Once you have installed LastPass you can disable Chrome’s inbuilt password manager from options.

LastPass for Chrome is still on the first version, there may still be bugs. But its working great on my Chrome installed on Windows XP SP3, if you do try it out let me know how your experience was.
