Bing’s Growth Rate Surpass Google

A Nielsen report this week claims that Bing is now the fastest growing search engine compared to all of its competitors. This is mainly due two reasons in my opinion:

    1. Microsoft have allocated a large sum of money towards Bing’s advertising campaign.
    2. Bing is the default search engine on Internet Explorer 8 and with more and more people using Internet Explorer 8 Bing’s growth rate would continue to grow.

Not saying that Microsoft hasn’t done anything this time round the innovation with the visual search gets a thumbs up but in terms of the ease of use Google would still top Bing by a mile.

The growth surge of Bing would most likely see it taking over the second spot in the Top 10 search providers by mid 2010 with Yahoo! continue to lose their market share.
